About Us
We are a small family farm located south of Knoxville, IA, raising Dexter cattle, Yaks and producing our delicious Ranch Candy.
We began our adventure in 2017 building our farmhouse and buildings ourselves. In 2018 we added our cattle and a huge garden with chickens.
We are descendants of 60’s hippies and Iowa born and bred , so all of our enterprises are done with regenerative and sustainable practices. We work closely with PFI and USDA for ongoing advice and education.
In 2023 we added Yaks and decided we were more of a ranch so we trademarked Rooster Ranch LLC.
We also began selling our Ranch Candy at Pleasant Hill and Indianola Farmer’s Markets. And have been overwhelmed at the success.Our Ranch Candy is unique because the recipe was developed and refined here at the ranch. It began as a way to get our children to eat leftover garden produce.
